What will this webinar cover?
Capnography has become routine in many practices and has been a great step forward in patient monitoring, but there are some fundamental pitfalls.
In this live webinar, we discuss how to set up your capnograph, present solutions for hypo-and hypercapnia, and discuss how to troubleshoot certain waveforms. One common misconception is that carbon dioxide (CO2) is the “bad guy”, and we must get rid of it, but actually, too much or too little CO2 in the blood creates pH imbalances which result in disturbances to normal homeostatic processes in the body.
So, when we monitor our patients for hypocapnia or hypercapnia, we’re not only assessing the patient’s ability to ventilate effectively, but we are using this information to ensure the levels of CO2 are normal in the lungs, these levels are similar to the levels of CO2 in the blood and maintain an optimal blood pH.
Capnography is so much more than waveforms…
What’s included?
The session will run for approximately 1 hour, with a Q&A session afterwards, and ongoing support offered via email and phone. If there are any particular topics you would like to run through, feel free to add them in the comments section of the booking link we will provide.
There is no limit on the number of people in your practice that can join the webinar, and a viewing link will be provided allowing those not on that shift to watch remotely. (It will not be available to download or watch on demand).
Written notes and CPD certificates are sent after the event.
